Geography of Russia
Russia, the largest country in the world, occupies one-tenth of all the land on Earth. It spans 11 time zones across two continents (Europe and Asia) and has coasts on three oceans (the Atlantic, Pacific, and Arctic). Much of Russia is made up of rolling, treeless plains called steppes.Summers in Russia are warm to hot and winters in Russia are very cold. The precipitation in Russia varies from region to region. The Southern and the Southeastern parts of Russia are the driest and the Western parts of Russia get the most rain. In Northern and Central European Russia, the summers are dry and hot and winters are also very cold. Much of Russia only has 2 seasons; Winter and Summer. Only some parts of Russia get Autumn and Fall.
